We have a new project house in Lancaster NY. The house is a 1920’s cape code with a Large lot (for a Village home). The home is 1330 square feet, located in the heart of the Village of Lancaster. There are 5 bedrooms, 2 full bathrooms and a 2-car garage.

On August 24th, Channel 2 News and the Boy’s and Girl’s club of Buffalo are teaming up to collect backpacks and school supplies for kids in need. Check out the information on the channel 2 site to see how you can help.
Channel 2 and the Boys and Girls Clubs will be at six Wal-Mart locations across Western New York from 7am to 9pm on August 24th collecting school supplies.

This is not a project that I have had to do before. Thank goodness. Actually, it wasn’t that bad. Granted, I was only removing a wallpaper border, but the technique would be the same. I approached this project with steamer in hand. I assumed that it would be as difficult as seen on TV, but I hoped otherwise. 
The border was a recent addition to an apartment that I had for rent. (Side note: don’t let your tenants put up borders or paint!) The new tenant asked for the border to be removed and I agreed to do the job. I am a fan of the show “Sell this House” with Roger Hazard. Roger recommended using fabric softener for the job instead of an expensive wallpaper removal solution. In fact, the fabric softener might actually work better.
Here are the steps that I needed to take. Hopefully they will work for you as well.
I had things easy since I was only removing a wallpaper border. If you are removing paper from an entire room, I would purchase a large paper tiger and use a sprayer or a paint roller to apply the fabric softener solution.

If you are looking for a condominium or town-home in Lancaster, you probably already know that the short supply in this market keeps prices rather high.

I haven’t looked at the unit so I can’t give any indication of the condition of the interior. This could be a real steal for someone looking for a unit for their own use. Hit your local Lowe’s to get a Dyson vacuum of your own while they are still on sale. I bought one for my wife’s birthday. Normally, buying a vacuum for your wife’s birthday isn’t such a hot gift idea, but somehow, the fact that it was a Dyson made all the difference. She loved it.
