Adelphia Blocking Vonage

Is Adelphia blocking traffic that they recognize from Vonage. If you don’t know, Vonage is a voice over IP (VOIP) telephone service. It uses your broadband phone connection to place calls for a monthly fee.

I have a home office where I use Vonage phone service. Just today I noticed that almost all of my calls are being dropped during the course of the call. Guess what? Congress is letting this happen. Do you think the Adelphia (Time Warner) VOIP offering will have issues? If they are allowed to shape the traffic from a service such as Vonage and prioritize their own, they are essentially forcing you to switch services.

I am in the Buffalo, NY area. Lancaster to be exact. I would love to hear if anyone else is having similar issues.
